1. Process up to admission
Here you will find information about what to bring with you on the day of hospital admission, things you will need while living as an inpatient, what to do while you are an inpatient, and the procedure for being discharged from the hospital.
Contact and confirmation on day of inpatient admittance
- Patients whose admission date has not been determined
- When the date of admission has been decided, the physician in charge of the case in the department where you will be admitted as an inpatient will call you directly by telephone.

- On the date of admission, please go through the process by the following procedure:
Admission procedure
- Patients who have made a reservation for admission will be notified directly by a physician at a later date of their admission date. If you have questions about a reservation for admission or wish to cancel an admission reservation, please get in touch with the outpatient reception window of the department concerned.
- On the day of admission, please come to the hospital by the appointed time given to you by the doctor and go through the admission procedure at the Admission and Discharge Counter (Window No. 11 or the medical concierge station). When you have not received instructions from a doctor, please come to the hospital about 10:00 am and go through the admission procedure.
- A doctor or nurse will explain in advance what things you will need in the hospital ward.

If an emergency admission occurs, then you may be asked to move to another room or another ward, depending on the symptoms. We hope you will understand and cooperate if this happens.
Food
(1) About foods
Meals are provided according to the instructions of the physician in charge and depending on your condition.
- For reasons of hygiene, please do not bring in any food.
- Please inform us in advance if you have any food allergies.
- Food is considered as a part of your treatment and the salt content is reduced. Some items may seem low in flavor to you, but we ask your understanding.
(2) Meal service
- IH food cart
- Food carts with infrared heating (IH) are used to serve meals with hot foods kept hot and cold foods kept chilled.
- Customary seasonal or special event foods
- Customary seasonal or special event foods are served one or more times every month, and the Yamagata brand of "Tsuyahime" rice is served on the 28th of every month.
- Delay of meals for medical tests
- Breakfast or lunch may be served at later times to allow for various kinds of medical tests.
- Choice of bread for breakfast
- Bread can be chosen as the main item for breakfast. The permission of the physician in charge is required, so please talk to your physician in charge or a nurse about this.
- Birth celebration meal
- We provide a "birth celebration meal" to patients who have given birth to a child. These patients can choose the main dishes and the dessert.
- Coffee service
- Coffee is served twice a month.
(3) Mealtimes

3. Hospitalization expenses, medical certificates and other certificates
Accounts
Billing during inpatient stay
Inpatient expenses during hospital stay are added up on a monthly basis and the bill and payment slip will be delivered to your room around the 10th of the following month. Please pay by the due date.
Billing on discharge from the hospital
When you are discharged from the hospital on a regular weekday, your bill will be presented to you in the ward as part of the discharge procedure.

Cash or credit card - Others
If you wish to make payment at a bank, post office, or convenience store, please pay using a payment transfer slip. The payment transfer fee is paid by the patient.
