Overview of the Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Pediatric Surgery Department
縲his medical department specializing in the above three surgical fields provides various surgical treatments for acquired and congenital heart diseases; aortic diseases; peripheral arterial diseases and renous diseases; and even pediatric surgical diseases.
A total of 769 operations were performed in 2014 with 407 cardiovascular surgeries, 212 respiratory surgeries, and 150 pediatric surgeries. A total of 788 operations were performed in 2015 with 419 cardiovascular surgeries, 238 respiratory surgeries, and 131 pediatric surgeries. A total of 729 operations were performed in 2016 with 361 cardiovascular surgeries, 238 respiratory surgeries, and 130 pediatric surgeries. A total of 734 operations were performed in 2017 with 362 cardiovascular surgeries, 226 respiratory surgeries, and 146 pediatric surgeries.

Cardiovascular surgery
1. Surgical treatment of congenital heart diseases
2. Coronary artery bypass surgery for angina pectoris and myocardial infarction (almost cases are off pump or beating heart surgery)
3. Valve repair, valve replacement for various types of valvular disease, minimally invasive cardiac surgery for valvular and congenital heart diseases
4. Open aortic surgery, endovascular surgery, and hybrid surgery for aortic aneurysm and aortic dissection
5. Surgical treatment of peripheral arterial and venous diseases
Thoracic surgery
1. Surgical treatment for lung and tracheobronchial tumors such us lung cancer and complete thonacoscopic segmentectomy and labectony via single or multiple ports using 3D simulation
2. Surgical treatment of cystic lung diseases such as pneumothorax
3. Surgical treatment of mediastinal diseases such as thymic tumor
4. Thoracoscopic surgery for hyperhidrosis
Pediatric surgery
1. Surgical treatment for all congenital gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases
(esophageal atresia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, small bowel atresia, Hirschsprung's disease, imperforate anus, biliary atresia, etc.)
